Guar Seed, scientifically known as Cyamopsis tetragonoloba, is a drought-tolerant legume primarily grown in arid and semi-arid regions. It is the raw agricultural product from which guar gum is derived.
The seed is typically composed of three parts: the husk, the germ, and the endosperm. The endosperm is the most valuable component, as it is rich in galactomannan—a natural thickening agent used extensively in various industries. Guar Seeds are widely cultivated for both domestic use and industrial processing.
After harvesting, the seeds are cleaned and processed to extract Guar Gum Splits, which are further milled into guar gum powder. Besides their industrial applications, guar seeds are also used as cattle feed (guar churi and korma) due to their high protein content. We supply high-quality guar seeds with uniform size, high germination rate, and optimal moisture content, ideal for gum processing and agricultural use.
Appearance: Small, hard, brownish seeds; oval and somewhat flattened in shape.
Size: Approximately 2–3 mm in length.
Texture: Smooth outer surface with a tough seed coat.
Color: Brown to grayish-brown outer shell; interior split (endosperm) is off-white.
Guar Gum Production: The endosperm is processed into food-grade and industrial-grade guar gum powder.
Animal Feed: The protein-rich by-product is used in cattle and poultry feed.
Agriculture: Acts as a green manure and helps improve soil fertility due to its nitrogen-fixing ability.
Research & Breeding: Used in agricultural R&D to develop high-yield and disease-resistant varieties.
